Carry Train

“Having been to other more commercial shooting courses, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  Because of the small number of students, we were able to do much more than I have before.  The scenarios were realistic, and they make you think about how you can prepare for the time when you may have to use a gun to save a life.  Very useful, thought provoking.  You can’t walk away from the course without thinking about something new.”             -John

“This was my second class with Guy & Suzanne.  First for my CC Permit.  Both were over-the-top excellent.  Very inviting, thorough & I walked away with a better understanding in both the legalities involved and handgun efficiency.”     -Steve

Concealed Carry requires a readiness to safely handle a wide range of dynamic scenarios.  In this photo we see a student addressing a threat having exited the car from the back.  He has advanced to keep the forward passengers behind the line of his gun and to best utilize the cover provided by the vehicle’s engine.

Ironically, we can’t teach students holsters and carry skills when they attend our Concealed Carry Permit Authorization class.  Prerequisites for Carry Train include a good dependable pistol, holster and permit.

Walther PPS 40S&W and pocket holster, 2 Mags + Permit

Ruger LCR, Springfield XDm with Mag, Three Holsters + Permit & Speed-loader with SnapCaps

Remember, the equipment you chose and use is a big part of successful concealed carry and, if needed, successful defensive operations.  It is always better to study options and find quality input towards making a great selection rather than going out an buying whatever.  Confidence is much rooted in your familiarity and comfort with your apparatus.

The draw, or Power-stroke, is one of the most dangerous areas of pistol work.  We start in the classroom with dry-fire exercises to coordinate draw mechanics and program a safe, smooth firearm presentation.

On the range we run empty-gunning progressions from a vehicle…

We then remove the vehicle and approximate it’s presence using a chair and cardboard boxes to simulate the glove-box & center console…

Student leans out of vehicle window (approximation) in the live-fire series…

Defense against violent road-rage attacker wielding pipe…With vehicle…

With vehicle removed to safety & live fire…

We find reasonable ways to approximate unexpected situations that enable the concealed carry student to experience how things go when physical dynamics get unusual…

If you have your CCP and choose to keep up the honor of keeping and bearing firearms, you do need to account for training that connects with potential occasions for defensive shooting.  We provide this opportunity to you in an environment that is respectful and considerate.  The live experience of such exercises provides much confidence and demystification; additionally, you learn important skill details involving use of cover, transitions for multiple targets and how to apply a remarkably effective 5 shot burst.

“As with each class I have taken before, I continue to be impressed with Guy & Suzanne’s skill, attention to safety, + excellent presentation.  Simply outstanding!”   -Joe
